The Digital Greenhouse launches Guernsey’s Startup Hub, a free service to support new business and entrepreneurs in Guernsey

A fresh new offering has arrived at the Digital Greenhouse, providing free and inclusive support for new business and entrepreneurs.  Guernsey’s Startup Hub is a blend of online services, face to face support and accelerator programmes, all designed to provide entrepreneurs with a one-stop-shop to connect them with the rich and diverse expertise of Guernsey innovation ecosystem.

This is such an exciting time to be involved with new business development and our vision is to continue to build on the great work done to support entrepreneurs to date. Our mission here at the Digital Greenhouse has been to enable innovation and expand horizons, the Startup Hub is a further connector for business growth and support.

Lucy Kirby, Director of the Digital Greenhouse Programme

The Startup Hub’s new virtual space has something for every stage of the new business cycle with a wide range of multimedia content, case studies to inspire and links to help you begin your journey.  Free and impartial advice can be found on topics ranging from clarity on navigating jargon-heavy legal, finance and insurance matters, to successfully developing a brand and planning marketing.

The online service is complemented by a well established annual programme of events, workshops and networking on offer from the Digital Greenhouse.  With over 190 free events held last year, 2020 sees an exciting mix of innovation, creativity and business growth specific events. Series such as Digital Marketing Meetup, Lunch && Code and the Innovation Lab continue to provide opportunities for special interest groups to meet, develop networks and exchange advice on a regular basis.

To offer more structured guidance and support for new business, the Digital Greenhouse are running the second annual Business Accelerator programme in partnership with Barclays Eagle Lab.  This year it includes a series of Starting Up Saturday one-day bootcamps, giving participants the opportunity to develop their business ideas through a series of workshop activities with expert guidance from local mentors.

Reflecting new media trends, the Digital Greenhouse also plays host to a brand new podcast series for entrepreneurs on the go.  It is hoped that by using a range of media and a mix of virtual and face to face support boosts accessibility to these services, helping to get messages about how to start a business in Guernsey to a wide range of people.
